A Few of My Favorite Pics

I'm just collecting a few of my favorite pics on one post...it's just a few now but I'll be adding more here so you'll be able to click on the "A Few of My Favorite Pics button" to check now and then to see what has been added.  It's just getting too late and I need to get some sleep...night:)

Hi Family, I love you!!

Passover 2010.  Clockwise:  Tanner, Caleb, Megan, Corey, Me holding B. Faith, Craig behind the camera.  This was my best Passover so far because my whole family was here.  I had the best time!!!
My kitties and spring flowers 2010.  Such a beautiful spring morning, warm and sunny with lovely flowers in sweet kitties.
EZ and B.Faith.  Both of them are just babies.   EZ is a Charpai, all full of wrinkles, tiny eyes and a really big nose.  He is the craziest dog ever!  He just has some very odd traits but he is a very good boy...if you don't count the fact he tried to eat my door knob!   You two are so pretty!
B.Faith in G-ma's Zebra hat:)
It's hard to get everyone to look at the same time but I love the pics of the kids in the flowers...my gifts:)  Tanner and Caleb and Miss B (she's being stubborn).
Any guesses??  That's Caleb.  I have no idea what he was thinkin' about here...but I laughed:)  Don't worry, we got the bag off his head before he ran out of air!
Corey with newborn baby Gracie.  Finally she made it here.  She made us all wait for 10 days past her due date..but she's worth it!  Congratulations Daddy and Mama:)  Jan. 19, 2011.

This is one of my all time fave's of the boys with their dad and their beards...they look a lot like their dad don't ya think?

These crazy distorted pics were taken by Tanner while he and Caleb were playing around with his lap top's camera and visual effects.  They took a bunch of photos and they were a hoot!  Others can be found on the  blog under "just pics" if you'd like to see more:)

More camera antics...Caleb looks like Paul Mccartney here I think...in a weird way!

Keep checking back, I'll be adding more as I come across them!

I love this pic of Miss B and her big, bright blue eyes, hers is sooooooo pretty:)  (She always says, "it's hims or hers coat."...so cute baby girl.)

Another Fave of Miss B with G-ma's pretties on.  Such a princess.

Here's one of me!  Out on the deck.  This is before I let my hair grow out and it still had a little bit of "tame" to it...memories...

Are these the faces of innocence or what?  Precious little boys.  I'd say Caleb is about 3 or 4 here so that makes Tanner just about 7 or 8.  They are good buddies.

I hope Megan doesn't get me for putting this one in but it's a pic of them at the hospital the Sabbath morning  Miss B was born and there's Daddy holding her and Megan recovering from a long, long night of labor and pushing but still both were proud and it was amazing.  Megan allowed her mom and I and her friend to also be in the room with them while B was being born.  It was so incredible to hear that babies cries when she came into this world.  I was so unbelievably blessed at that moment.  It was as amazing as when I gave birth to my own boys.  Thanks for sharing it with me guys, it was the best gift ever:)

This is one of my opening blog page pictures...All my favorite peeps!

Power of the Tongue

I think in our daily lives when life is just being life or when it is hurried or we are angered or down, sometimes it can be easy to forget the power in the words that we choose to use.  It is so, so important to remember the power of the spoken word. We can choose negative words which can harm us or others or words that can bless.  Father, help me to remember your words which are life...

The Power of the Tongue

With His words, Abba caused the creation of heaven and earth…
Gen. 1:3
And Elohiem said let there be…
And there was…
Abba’s very words have power to create life.

The power of life and death, blessings and curses exists in the WORD, both written and spoken.
Pro 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Jos 8:34  And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and cursings, according to all that is written in the book of the law.

We are instructed to Choose Life…we do have a choice.  Both have been set before us…life or death, blessings or curses.
Deu 30:19  I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Pro 15:4  A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

We can become bound because of the words from our own mouths…
Pro 6:2  Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

Or set free from the path of wrath and folly.
Pro 15:1  A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
Pro 15:2  The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

Our Words are Health to the Bones or Affliction to the Soul
Pro 16:24  Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Pro 26:28  A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

They are Either Wise or foolish
Ecc 10:12  The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.

The Promise in Abba’s WORD to Those Who Mind Their Conversation
Psa 50:23  Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

My Prayer
Psa 19:14  Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Yahuah, my strength, and my redeemer.
Job 27:4  My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
Psa 145:21  My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
Psa 35:28  And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the day long.
Job 6:24  Teach me, and I will hold my tongue: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

Psa 34:13  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
1Pe 3:10  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
1Pe 3:11  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.

Please hear my prayer today Abba and help me to remember the power that is in every idle word I speak and that every word is recorded.  One day when I stand before you let it be found that I have applied wisdom and my words have produce life, been wise, taught truth, and been gentle.  Abba hear me today and let me be found pleasing before you.
Thank you that you hear me.  Amien

Hope you all have a blessed day of preparation and a Shabbat filled with peace and good fellowship.

Just for fun...Learning the Hebrew Aleph Bet

Below is a You Tube link for a video we have been playing around with to help us learn our Hebrew Aleph Bet.  It's a little corny but I like it because its repetitious and writes the name of the letter along with  showing the letter and singing it, all of which are really helpful for learning (even for ME!)

Make it fun.

Aleph-Bet Video

Around the house today

Today...I froze blueberries whole...
I pureed some...
Made Blueberry  Muffins...

Made hash browns.  (Boil or bake them first and you don't have to peel them.) I shredded them onto a jelly roll pan lined with parchment, sprinkled them with onion powder and put them in to freeze.  When they are solid, I will put them into freezer bags according to how much we’ll use for  a breakfast and they’ll be ready to go and they taste really great.  We like to add onions and mushrooms to ours when we cook them.

Pulled some dried milk powder out of the freezer  to make “Home Shalom’s” Mexican Hot Cocoa Mix (find it here http://homeshalom.blogspot.com/2011/01/homeshaloms-mexican-hot-cocoa-mix.html  ), which I did.  I mixed it up and put it into 2 one quart glass jars.  I didin’t have the vanilla powder that the recipe calls for so I had to leave that out but I did look it up, but as she said, it is expensive, so I opted out this time which she said was okay). The kids love homemade whipped topping so I’ll make that and maybe we’ll have that tonight when we read together, that sounds nice doesn’t it.

Made some bread.  I still use a bread machine to make bread.  I feel like such a sorry woman…I have no relationship with the dough.  Dough does not like me and may have it out for me, I think!  So, my trusty bread machine to the rescue.  Here’s one of my favorite recipes:

Crunchy Wheat and Honey Bread

Makes a 1 Lb. loaf

¾ c plus 2Tbsp water

2 Tbsp honey

1Tbsp softened butter

1 ¼ c whole wheat flour (I use organic)

1 c unbleached white flour (I have used all

WW before and it still turned out just fine)

¼ c soaked and dried sunflower seeds (my

favorite) or slivered almonds if you like (I

make it without the sunflower seeds too and

don’t need to make any adjustments)

1 tsp sea salt

1 ¼ tsp reg. active dry yeast

Or

1 tsp bread machine yeast of quick-acting dry yeast.

From there you’d just  have to use your bread

machines directions but for mine the cycle

is…
bread type: Whole wheat

Crust color: Medium

Bake: Regular and press start
and 3 hrs. 55 min. later it’s ready.

***NOTE: Sorry, The bread is still in the

bread machine so no pics of bread today.

Roasted a chicken for dinner tonight along with a few baked potatoes, creamed corn and a salad…the bread got done after dinner though.  You can’t win ‘em all.

I snuck (is snuck really a word?) in a picture of the boys working on school, hi boys!  Caleb is doing math, he had a few hitches today...but it got better and done:)

Well, that’s (part of) my day.  Like I said, It was goodJ
